A San Antonio restaurant is the latest to be hit by a string of serial brisket and meat robberies that have rattled area barbecue joints for the last two months. The now-infamous barbecue bandit struck again this past Saturday at Augie’s Barbed Wire Smokehouse. Augie Cortez, the popular eatery’s owner, told local KENS 5 News, that the meat loving thief got away with 175 pounds of smoked brisket and 10 cases of beer. Cortez’s surveillance cameras were the first to catch the carnivorous crook on camera. The incident represents the fourth time a barbecue joint has been robbed since the beginning of this year. Two Bros Barbecue Market, The Smoke Shack, and B&B Smokehouse have had thousands of dollars worth of barbecue stolen. "Barbecue is a hard business and these guys work really hard," Jason Dady, one of the owners of Two Bros BBQ Market told WOAI News 4. "And to take that from independent restaurants just trying to make a living. It’s really a bummer." -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Crying dog breaks the internet’s heart — but this sad dog story has a happy ending" /watch/cQYb9NTKrp4Kb -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-
