General Aviation is a great community and very helpful with each other. My buddy John called and asked for a pickup from Rockford Airport (RFD) and it was an easy decision to put the chainsaw down and go pick him up. He's done the same for me several times and it's always nice to be able to return the favor. In flight we deviated a bit to not fly through/breathe the harmful chemicals. Evidentially a large grease factory blew up north of Rockford. We used the short flight to let John get some experience on my Avidyne IFD's as he was having one installed at the shop. Sorry for the slight audio issues. I will get that resolved. @Farmer_El3 years ago Kevin, you have to be one of the calmest people I've ever seen. I'd be very comfortable and at ease if you were my pilot. 26

@ianf29853 years ago Always enjoy seeing you share the cockpit duties. Must be hard for a pilot to sit back and not help out so might as well get him involved too. 5

@northernguyytt98823 years ago Just can’t beat the aviation community, well maybe the sailing community is a close second. Great flights as usual, even with those gusty landings, but you rolled off the runway under power so was a quality landing! Stay safe and fair winds and clear skies! ... 4

@f16cc4823 years ago Yep, that fire sent smoke all the way down over the AAR ramp while we were trying to launch an A-319 out. I was surprised we got it out in that. Wish I’d have seen you on takeoff. Such a great looking aircraft.
  • @
@MuratGurel583 years ago Your new Camera makes a huge difference man. Great picture quality. Nice flight as always.
  • @
@terryqueen32333 years ago Well looks like to me that a bumpy ride doesn't matter as long as you have got all the instrumental things you need you'll get there. Once you learn something it's pretty easy to teach someone else. I love it. I am not certified but I want to tell you this is excellent. I have flown many times I do not have my license but I have seen what you're doing and teaching this Feller many times.. Keep up the good work you do excellent work you're an excellent teacher. Have a great day stay safe and keep your powder dry! ...

@rickashford40053 years ago Not just helping out a friend... pilots just need any excuse to go fly. I was painting my house and dropped what I was doing to go fly the local funeral homes Cessna U-206. Made a few shekkels, taking someone in a casket for their last plane ride to another state. Still got the house painted the next day. ... 4

@patricklawler41383 years ago I left the area about 11 A.M. driving to Springfield that day. By the time I got to the south of LaSalle/Peru the smoke from that fire had made it that far south. Very long smoke trail.

@joetownsend-3 years ago Kevin & Jamie,
    Great Video‼️ GO DAWGS‼️
Good to see John again. Yall go over lots of technical stuff- way over my head‼️
    I bet Jamie wasn’t too happy about all that flirting- “…pick me up…” ••• “…I Wish”‼️ I think 🧐 that was a slip 🆙‼️ Funny though‼️
How about a video of the New House, tree cutting, before & after upgrades?
Let’s hear prediction of DAWGS vs Clemson‼️
Blessings for Yall from Gainesville Georgia🙏

@davel93583 years ago Another nice video and great helping out a friend. But a week without Jaimie is a week without sunshine. Hope to see the two of you together in 771BC soon
  • @
@greggszyp73713 years ago I live S.W. of rockford. I recognized some of the scenery you flew over. I was on duty that day at RFD. I saw the initial plume of smoke on my way to work that morning, I thought oh boy this is going to be a big mess.
Yes Lithium smoke is bad to inhale. Lithium fires react very badly when water is applied to them which hampered the firefighting efforts.

@bartomand36813 years ago A friend has a problem, and you have a solution. That is what being a friend is all about. I do it all the time. A friend has something big/bulky that needs to be moved, I am not doing anything, so I take my minivan and go help em out. We are all in this life together, no sense NOT to help. My feelings anyway...great job 1BC! ...

    @rikspector3 years ago Kevin,
You both make a good team.
That Lithium fire looked like a very bad situation, I am
    really glad you avoided it.
Would you have been able to use oxygen if you were forced to get closer?
I can't believe fall is almost here, there should be some great aerial color.
Best wishes to Jaime, hope to see her out and about.
    Cheers,
    Rik Spector
