When do you upload videos? - I make videos as often as I can. 2. What do you do for a living? - I work a full time construction job plus any overtime I can get. 3. Where can I download the craft file? - No downloads as of yet. I don't have the time, but these videos are meant for you to be inspired to build your own crafts. I try to make it so you can follow along with the build. 4. What is a SSRT ? - SSRT means Single Stage Rocket Technology. Some times the videos contain bad language and adult humor but on a low level. In these videos no planet is safe as we can explore space together by landing on places like Duna and Jool and build large Duna colonies or orbital space stations. Also, Interplanetary SSTO builds seem to be a hot topic in the KSP community so I will be touching on those as well. I also build SSRT space craft. These are fun to build and easy to fly! Warships or space warships are one of my favorite things to make. Stock weapons can be very challenging and so when building them over time , you get to see the evolution of the designs. Same thing with the Warships. They get better and better with each new design. Now , I know it's considered cheating but Kraken drives are a fun way to put things like warp drive ( like in Star Trek ) and or hyper drives ( like in Star Wars ) in your Kerbal space program game. These game mechanic loopholes are fun to figure out as you find out how they work and how to incorporate them into your star ship design. Everything from Outposts on far away moons and Mining Stations around asteroids and comets, you name it I've ether built it or it's on my to do list! I still haven't really explored things like building SpaceX starship or any of the NASA spacecraft, and I think that's because it been done to many times. Recreations of spacecraft can be found almost everywhere on YouTube now and so making yet another one seem redundant. Only if the spacecraft recreation is of one that I loved as a kid will I even attempt to build it. Like the Apollo Moon Lander, or the whole Apollo rocket! Now that rocket was cool! Many people have ask me if I'm ever going to wear my Mandalorian helmet ever again for my videos. And , yes. when the time is right, and I get a new wabcam, I will be dawning the helmet once more! Thank you everyone! ... This is the way. #SSTO #KSP #HowTo

@stormhawk42772 years ago One of the best looking SSTOs I've ever seen! Kinda reminds me of that shuttle from Avatar. 8

@shadowryth73082 years ago Your videos give me so much inspiration to build some cool crafts in KSP. Definitely one of my favorite channels. Keep up the good work! Going to be really cool when KSP2 comes out and you build interstellar ships. 18

@keithrushforth40192 years ago One thing I've found useful with Kerbal space planes is rocket assisted take off. Basically I have a couple of small solid rockets slung under the wings that help accelerate it down the runway, and get it into the air. When the solids burn out I drop them in the sea, and then fly it like a normal air breathing SSTO. ... 9

@h.a.98802 years ago You've outdone yourself, Vaos! And given the quality of videos and the ingenuity of your designs, that is saying a lot!
I love how the Raptor offers a docking port and crew quarters. It's that tiny little detail to round out the whole design and make it feel more real. I could totally see this as a design McDonnell Douglas, Boeing or Northrop Grumman came up.
That massive cargo-bay with its doors looks absolutely rad as well.

I may or may not have taken “Raptor” too literally.
I have a GIANT SSRT which lags my game out so bad lol, a wingspan AS WIDE AS THE DAMN RUNWAY, AND IT’S DAMN GLORIOUS. ...

@RAPR-mv8km2 years ago I'm terrified of trying to run that on my PC. On another note just wanted to say thanks for all the SSTO tutorials. Literally the FIRST SSTO I made using all the concepts from your videos and it was able to accelerate to 600 before hitting 7000 ... 2

@gus-norminalspace70272 years ago This might be too big of a project, but maybe try doing your space military stuff with most of the craft being SSRT spaceplanes? Would be futuristic, but with a bit of added realism. 2

@aaronquicksall42692 years ago Amazing Video! I don't know if this would be a simpler thing to do but something I have always been interested in seeing and learning how it would be to build a modular station out beyond the orbit of Eeloo and then get to it from Kerbin. I have not even the faintest idea of how to get that encounter. Just an idea. Hope you have a great day! Thx ... 2

@GABRIEL-ej4ei2 years ago This was an absolute beautiful beast you created, very inspiring. I love your building style it is really good. Question though your ksp creations are mostly Ssto's and SSRT's, I havent seen you build many 2 stage rockets like falcon 9 ect. Is there a reson for why that is. Anyways just had my morning coffe with your video which is almost like a religion at this point and I always feel inspired afterwards. Anyways love you channel and keep up the great work .
Another thing I cant wait to see you build huge amazing crafts to go interstellar in ksp 2

@Ted-122 years ago Your approach is impractical but beautiful 😊. My approach is a practical but not that good looking air breathing SSTO that can lift more than twice the weight up, depending on the implementation, but it's much harder to fly plus it uses a ton of engines and creates lots of lag 😅
I will upload a video of it at some point.

btw, as always, loved the video! ❤️

@tyson58112 years ago I have an idea for you if you remember your carrier make a spaceplane fighter that is capable of de-orbiting, fly down and have a small air battle and then be able to fly back up to the carrier (cause if the fighters fail they should be able to head back to the carrier re-arm and refuel and try again) ... 1
  • @
@tixeright91202 years ago To overcome the rocket-exhaust problem from forward sitting the engines, I put them at the end of wings, or at least midway, and since wings are absolute shit at supporting weight, especially a lot of weight under a lot of thrust, and just invite the kraken at every stage of the mission, I use all the extra durable structural parts instead, sometimes even off-angle fuel tanks, because when you're building an ssrt worrying about drag is for chumps. And you use wingy-bits where you need them for control and hopefully a soft landing. Really what you got to worry about with my designs is heating, so I end up using heat shields and radiators galore, because the things come crashing back thru the atmosphere like bricks until the air is thick enough to give wings control. Skipping off the atmosphere, they are not. Half the time they don't even need airbracks, because they can just pancake the atmosphere whenever they need to slow down. ... 1

@cyandragon6510last year We did it boys, we got a huge fuel tank with a docking port into orbit
  • @
@lb27912 years ago Do your winged SSRTs actually make use of their wings on ascent or are they mostly for landing?
I'm asking bc I have been thinking about the concept of a winged rocket that is basically underpowered to reach orbit but can do so using the lift of the wings. This would allow you to use less engines or engines that aren't exactly optimized for atmospheric flight. Most of my concepts revolved around trying to get the maximum amount of weight into orbit using a single rhino engine. I haven't really gotten to a point where it's actually better than using other means of achieving orbit. I haven't made any calculations but I guess the added weight from the wings bascially eats up any weight saved from not using more engines. ...

@martylawson16382 years ago Fyi, fairings have funny aerodynamics. All they're area, drag, and lift is lumped and applied at the center of the fairing base. Should let you move the body lift aft without it being so obvious. 1
