https://wdcweightloss.com/ FDA approves Eli Lilly’s diabetes drug Mounjaro for obesity under new name, Zepbound. The US Food and Drug Administration approved the type 2 diabetes drug tirzepatide for use in chronic weight management Wednesday, making official the use of a medicine already widely prescribed off-label for weight loss. The drug, called Mounjaro for diabetes, will be called Zepbound for weight loss, according to a news release from the FDA. Made by Eli Lilly, it’s part of a new class of drugs that includes semaglutide, known as Ozempic for diabetes and Wegovy for weight loss, which have skyrocketed in popularity in recent years. Zepbound was shown in clinical trials to yield more than 20% average weight loss on higher doses over 72 weeks, stronger results than seen with other approved medicines. The FDA cleared it for people with obesity or those characterized as overweight with at least one weight-related health condition, such as high blood pressure or heart disease, the same indication as for Wegovy. Like similar drugs, it’s taken as a shot patients give themselves once a week, and is recommended on top of a reduced calorie diet and increased exercise. #weightloss #weightlossjourney #doctor #diet #healthtips #fda

@Barpoint2123 months ago This is excellent information; thank you. I've just started Mounjaro with good results so far (at the lowest dose) and no side effects. One suggestion: I nearly didn't watch this video because the sensationalist title gives the impression it's going to be a rant against Mounjaro. Quite the contrary! ... 14

@jennifermonnoyer90812 months ago Dr. Mike, You commented that there are only a few good companies that compound Tirzepatide. Can you share some company names that we could trust? 12

@shizune62733 months ago Tirzepatide allows me to make better choices with food. I can now eat unprocessed food, and can fast for 16 hrs a day. I have so much energy, I don't feel depressed anymore or easily fatigued. This medication enables me to take the path toward better health through lifestyle changes. I could never have done this without it! Thank god for very smart people for developing this drug. ... 11

@karenferrara5 months ago I've lost 50+ lbs 5 times in my 6 decades, I keep it off for up to 5 years, then slowly gain it back. I took 5 the whole time and weaned off over five months I would however still like to take 2.5 every 15 days for maintenance. I'm going back to the doctor now that it's been approved for weight loss. ... 8

@foma5186 months ago I was on OZ for about 6 months and got off it due to digestive issues. I gained 10 lbs back. I was RAVENOUS!!!!! My MD switched me to MJ and the digestive issues has been tolerable. I don't know how long I want to be on it - definitely not indefinitely - but I'm also scared of getting off it. I'll cross that road when I get there! ... 15

@melwest66396 months ago This was great for explaining how this works in people who are genuinely overweight or have diabetes. It totally has its place. But isn’t the recent issue that people who are not at all overweight, celebrities/influencers etc… are promoting it as something you can just casually do to get/stay super skinny. It is NOT that! That’s dangerous right? ... 11

@samuelcasas2 weeks ago I've been on Mounjaro off and on because of the supply shortage. Last year, I lost 50lbs or 11% of my body weight of 435lbs. Last month, my doctor put me on Ozempic because of supply shortage but I had a really bad reaction to it and stopped taking it. I had really intense nausea. I am feeling better now but decided I would go back on Mounjaro at the starting amount of 2.5 and not my last amount before I stopped taking it of 12.5.
My only concern about going back on it is the mental health side effects that were not mentioned in the video. Besides depression, anxiety and insomnia, I suffer every Winter from S.A.D. This Winter was brutal due to the being more days of rain and overcast than in previous years. Could you do a video on the mental health side effects of Mounjaro? Thank you.

@FroMan7536 months ago Any thoughts on the reported AKI seen in patients on semaglutide? Is this a real issue or side effect or the medication? Or is the appetite suppression causing patients to drink less fluids? 3

@briantaylor30316 months ago Quick FUQ: I was under the impression prelim SURMOUNT-4 results showed weight regain in a majority of patients after discontinuation of tirzepatide. Is it safe to assume you're awaiting final publication of the results before citing that study? ... 2

I am very obese I have a sedimentary life. I have to do cardio. I have swelling, I think everyone that has swelling needs to take a water pill. If your over weight and have back pain, pain and have swelling this would help. I HAVE NO CHIOCE I HAVE TO DO CARDIO, If your SMM is low you need strength training. This should help those who are not getting results. My nutritionist is amazing, she uses a machine called ImBody I highly recommend people do that. Not just obese EVERYONE that wants to improve or struggling to get results. ...

@Mr_T.6 months ago I stopped taking Semaglutide due to the slow emptying of my stomach contents, having to wait around 3 or 4 days on average to empty my bowels. During that time, I had to make do with staying bloated no matter how much I ate and having to wait several days before being relieved and repeating the cycle. I've heard that it may cause gastroparesis which could explain my issue. I may be taking part in a phase 3 clinical trial possibly for Retatrutide for the next 2 years. Hopefully I'm not on the placebo. ... 2

@paulbuettner39683 months ago Compounding pharmacies are largely unregulated and risky. Just look up the FDA complaints. Some tests have come back that were salt based. They are like the supplement industry, and you really do not know what you are getting. Some of the weight loss companies such as Hims, also give you compounded 20% lower doses. If you have private insurance, just get the manufacturers coupon, and the price will be about the same. ... 2

@BarryHolsinger5 months ago A, uh, "friend" of mine lost 20 pounds in 4 weeks on semaglutide. At the beginning, sourced from a local compounding pharmacy and then later, from online sources. My friend is down 40 pounds in 4 months. No exercise, no special diet other than basically not eating because the appetite and food noise are gone. For my friend, mild nausea is kept in check with OTC antiemetic. My friend actually considers these peptides to be "miracle" medicines. ... 4

@jaeshasway3 months ago It’s not a miracle to the people who don’t need it and that includes people who simply want to lose a little bit of weight but actually don’t need medication to do so. I take it for the reason it was actually developed and have had virtually no side effects. ... 2

@LAnn-en1vg6 months ago Are people in other countries besides the US needing this drug for the same issues? Somehow I doubt it. Seems like a uniquely American problem with a typical $$$$pharmaceutical solution! But it’s NOT the food we are given to eat, the air we breathe or the water we drink. 🤔Right! Drugs are always their solution to every health problem. ... 9

@Gary-bk7wrm2 months ago Why do you not address the diabetes treatment function of these drugs? You say it's a myth that some of us have to be on these drugs for life. After all, these drugs were originally intended to treat diabetes. ...
