Today's FitLabPGH video continues our May theme: Just Move More. Today’s tip: Can’t We All Just Get Along? (Trail Edition) Before you hop on your local trail’s Facebook Group to complain about “THOSE” bikers, dog owners, runners, or horseback riders, take a second to consider YOUR trail etiquette. If we all do our part to be considerate of other trail users, perhaps we can reduce the hostility on social media. Three tips to avoid being the object of a social media rant. Tip 1: PLEASE leash your dog; shorten the leash when passing others; and, of course, pick up after your dog. Tip 2: Go single-file when passing others (or when being passed)…and when you’re approaching someone from behind, give notice that you’ll be passing. Even if you’ve decided the pandemic is over, it’s still nice to give other trail users a little breathing room. Tip 3: If you want to listen to something other than the sounds of nature, use an earbud or open-ear headphones…because it IS good to keep at least one ear open for safety, but it is NOT polite to force other trail users to listen to your favorite music or podcast…even if that podcast is FitLabPGH. Take home message: a little trail etiquette goes a long way toward allowing everyone to enjoy moving outside. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday in May, we’ll be bringing you tips and hacks to help you move more and make movement part of your lifestyle. All tips are available on our YouTube channel; at www.FitLabPGH.com; and on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Have a tip that helps you fit more movement into your life?
