A few people have asked where I bought the Solar Fluttering Butterflies and Dragonflies that I had used in projects last year. As with most of my purchases they were from what I call 'bargain stores' such as PoundLand, 99p Store, and similar shops that sell items for £1 or less. I went into a 99p Store yesterday to check if they were in stock as it would be a seasonal item and they had shelves full of them so I thought I had better buy one and make something with it. I really didn't expect the fan car I built to work so I was surprised when it actually moved in the sunlight.

Generally my projects are for my grandchildren to enjoy. OK, I enjoy them too. If anybody else likes them, that is a bonus. I like to keep my work as simple and basic as possible so that it can be copied easily and improved by anybody who wants to try themselves. I recycle or repurpose items rather than buy new and when I do buy I like to keep it cheap.
