I needed a positive stop positioning system for drilling mounting holes in aluminum angle but want it to be move versatile then just a drill press jig so i built this simple system that is quickly and easily turned in to a router jig and a horizontal boring jig and the list goes one. @raymitchell97364 years ago I like this channel... it's where "Get 'er done" turns into "Got 'er done!" - now you got me thinking how useful an X-Y table would be... real genius! and I've yet to build a table saw sled or a drill press table, I don't "get 'er done" as quickly as you! 😁 ... 1

@marlawhite36824 years ago so very cool!!!! looking forward to see what ideas come from this

@annacraft4 years ago Haha, just finished to build something like this using 1000 and 700mm sbr12 to mount a trend t11 router on top for planing. Thanks for the ideas to improve the construction and what else could be done with it! Anna

@wallacesheckells70954 years ago That's a great idea. I need one...

    @kagey-uq1zt3 years ago Izzy
A couple of simple suggestions for the x/y drill table.
Insert track guide into surface of both X table and Y table so quick adjust V shaped stop blocks can be slid into position (use flat tape measure as setting guide also fixed next to track guide) , then use same shaped V male form to self centre in stop blocks on engaging your move handle lock, allows centre line of V blocks to be quicklu adjusted or even removed.
    All best kagey UK
For your tenon rise fall, how about three wood gears inside tbe body with 0 to 2 " rise cams or wood threaded jack screws to adjust height for router / drill positioning?

@tladoux4 years ago That indeed and outfeed thing is cool. I’d love to see it available for my Skilsaw SPT99-12.

@stardustjustlikeyou3 years ago Shoutout to the editor for making the drill sounds line up with the music. It's the little things
  • @
@ralphyo62854 years ago As always the best ever project ideas you come up with. I did however cringe when i saw you using that grinder without the guard.. Be safe Izzy
  • @
@cptrikester26714 years ago Very good. I'm using some printer / scanner rails to make a dremel version of this. 1
  • @
@simon-d-m4 years ago It may be my imagination, but it looks like you are moving better! If so, great, and keep up the post-op regime... Really pleased for you.
  • @
@MikeMoreno0004 years ago Why don't you add a T-Track on the side of the base and make a stop that flips out of the way. That way you can have more than 2 stops. 11
  • @
@PHIL_S4 years ago another awsome idea and build - now how to get this to mount to my lathe so I can flute some bowls and can I get it to raise up and down for curved flutes - to the shop creators!
  • @
@sween1874 years ago Get you, fancy purple heart for stops, 👍👍, also side tables, so you can make cuts on full sheets easier. (would need a counter weight on the legs)
  • @
@scottschaffer60844 years ago Whoa...stationary slot mortiser for $110 or so? Not too shabby. I wonder if the leftover LM8UU bearings and smooth rods I have left over from a 3d printer rebuild would work for a funky kind of domino slot cutter...Thanks as always, Izzy, for getting my brain going! ...
  • @
@jameshelton80954 years ago nice. How about adding t-track so you can more easily change the variable stops? thank you for sharing
  • @
@alan44014 years ago Looks like a really useful setup, By the way, what ever happened to the sliding table for the band saw. That looked a great idea which you said you would update some day. Love your content.
  • @
@goldendogwoodworks66754 years ago Great idea, how about a series of holes that you can insert pins as the stops.
  • @
@terryreed14214 years ago So you now have the infeed system for the left side of the blade now (like you promised me)! When ordering is there a way to specify which configuration you want? I like it!
  • @
@PaganWizard4 years ago My Metabo C 10RJ(S) sure could use an in-feed table. I could also really use one of those table saw lathe jigs too :-) hint hint.
This is brilliant, I love the slot mortising jig you made for this. Matthais Wandel will be jealous. ...
  • @
@MazMaslin4 years ago Purple heart used by my interwebnet Dad. Cheers Izzy, err, iDad.
  • @
@budwoodman17164 years ago It has sort of a 'Matthias Wandel' influence about it, kind of a very basic, rudimentary, semi, pseudo, quasi pantorouter sort of device but with that unique & definite Izzy Swan flair. I like it. Way to go Izzy. (PS....I know it was your idea and not inspired by anyone else). Just kidding...LOL. ... 4

@Mitrasmit4 years ago When you're counting the seconds to go, there's such a giant Office Space vibe. I thought you were going to say 'they told me I could keep my stapler. I could set the building on fire, you know'

@getdirecti0ns4 years ago The precisely tapped holes on top of the bearings: Am I a joke to you?!? 3

@alanclarke88504 years ago Hi Izzy, this looks great, maybe it could be adapted to the Bansaw, as a sliding table?
  • @
@williamellis89934 years ago When you cut the rails, make sure both pieces are cut from the same end or they may not line up when you reassemble them.
  • @
@yrralyou4 years ago I actually built one of those about 25 years ago. The linear bearings were more expensive then. I found it does a good job on a lot of tasks, but when fitting it with different tools, a router, circular saw, drill press the mounting table was always in the wrong position. Too high or too low. For a dedicated task, it is great. But I didn't find it generally useful for day to day.
For those that build one look on ebay and some of the Chinese sites that you've found reliable for the bearing and rods. You can get a complete CNC router for $150 and reuse the parts.

  • @
@Borescoped4 years ago Izzy, were you going to make one of those outfeed tables for the Milwaukee tablesaw also?
  • @
@Not_TVs_Frank4 years ago Izzy, have you been feeling a little... silly... lately? In your last few videos, you seem a little more goofy and lighthearted. I dig it, it's fun - I hope you're having fun making them. Maybe it's just me. Either way, thank you. ...

@willeeee4 years ago Clever sausage you are pal, take care!!

@jenksify4 years ago Would pin holes and pins on the adjustable stop have work ? That way you wouldn't have to replace the bottom panel as often. 1

@scottclark7984 years ago Izzy , how's your back treating you these days ? Keep up the great work and stay strong 1
  • @
@Freespirit53714 years ago Izzy, how about an infeed and outfeed table for those of us who own the Bosch 4100?
  • @
@guyjones49364 years ago T-track would have been a good thing to use for the adjustable stops.
  • @
    @Magicmike123454 years ago Awesome idea.
Where do you get the slide n glide tracks.

@mikecourteau65674 years ago Hi Izzy. My brother is in a wheelchair (motorbike accident) and is a member of a "rehab club" at a Vancouver hospital. This centre is for people with numerous disabilities which makes it much harder to design anything because it needs to work for everyone. I know you are in a wheelchair so I thought you might point me in the proper youTube videos about guys making things like a drill press raising and lowering jig and stuff like that. I am not asking you directly as I know the channel is your livelihood and they have a very limited budget but any direction you can point me in would be appreciate. Thanks. ...

@mitziseyfferdt38664 years ago Hi Izzy, have you ever seen Matthias Wandel's pantorouter? Your jig is inspired. Thanks. 1

@nathanshafer49784 years ago How are you going to handle the middle position stops that you have to hit, then move past to get to the stop position on the far end from where you start?
Will it be a retractable stop, or is there something better that I am not thinking of?
