So, Terraria 1.4 has been fun. Torches affected luck in positive and negative ways (for entirely regular and not-petty reasons, I assure you) until people caught wind about it, and BAD torch luck was removed in a small patch a few days later. Then another few days later in 1.4.0.5, one of the change notes suggested something about a Torch God. turns out if you survive this wrathful being's assault, you get an item named the "Torch God's Favor" (sic) which, on use, adds a toggle to your character's menu that lets you convert regular Torches into biome-appropriate Torches (where appropriate) As explained in the video, people on the Terraria sub-Reddit found that Demon Torches (usually requiring 1 Obsidian and 3 Torches to craft in stacks of 3) could be placed in this manner, and is the only torch obtained in such a manner that would sell for more than a Torch purchased from the Merchant (Torches bought in such a way cost 50 copper by default, whilst Demon Torches are sold for 60 copper by default); this turned into people saying "infinite money!" because, strictly speaking, you CAN profit off of Torches in this manner. But as I show in the video, it's kinda... not the best way of going about making money. I'll admit I wasn't entirely efficient with my placement of those Torches to begin with, and I got interrupted by beasties as I was sorting things out (which probably highlights how dangerous such a scheme can be), but if you were efficient with your placement and removal of Torches, you could turn some small money into some big money... if you have the time for it. Personally, I'd suggest just killing an Eye of Cthulhu or King Slime - far faster, far more entertaining, and you might get neat drops alongside 'em. (also an amusing note - the Desert Tiger summon lands a crit during its pounce attack, which given that particular attack activates Spectre Armour boosts, might mean it's classed as a Magic Damage strike and can get random crits. I can confirm it's not due to the Morning Star because I hadn't tagged that Imp, and in the time I've played this run, ONLY the Desert Tiger has had random crits so far)
